Rose City Labs, Science First
Our Vision
Mt. Hood

Nobody wants to guess about just what exactly is in the product they consume. This is why we seek to provide accurate, precise and dependable analytical testing of medical and recreational cannabis products. With knowledge comes power - the power to improve your treatment, the power to optimize growing conditions, the power to choose the most effective product for distribution.

Rose City Laboratories is not only a fully compliant HB3460/OAR 333-008-1190 lab, but high-accuracy, cost-effective compliance testing for Oregon is at the forefront of our vision.

One thing you can always be certain about at Rose City Labs: Science first.™

Our People
Our People

Excellence is not simply achieved by having excellent equipment. The true driving force behind our laboratory is our dedicated, passionate and highly qualified staff.

Seasoned professionals, with years of experience in analytical testing and the medical marijuana industry were not easy to find, but we have them working for us.

As part of our commitment to our staff, we permit and encourage the responsible use of our equipment for internal and personal projects related to our field of work and even maintain an older gas chromatograph just for this purpose. This does not only keeps our staff's expertise fresh, but also has resulted in numerous internal improvements over the industry standard SOPs for cannabis analysis.

Our Equipment
Shimadzu GC-2010 Plus

Rose City Laboratory utilizes state-of-the-art high performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, and mass spectrometry equipment, which has been directly obtained from the manufacturer to assure full compliance certifications of the instruments and allows us to enjoy the benefits if direct manufacturer support.

All of our equipment is maintained in strict compliance with manufacturers recommendations and constantly calibrated to assure the most accurate results possible.

Our primary units are a Shimadzu QP2010 GC/MS with autosampler/autoinjector and multiple Shimadzu LC-2010A HPLCs with autosamplers. We recently retired our Shimadzu Prominence UFLC 20 system as our brand new LC-2010A HPLCs are a more then adequate replacement. We also operate an older GC for staff training and internal projects.

The use of multiple autosampler/autoinjector systems in parallel permits us to run large numbers of samples and reference standards overnight, at low operating cost and much higher precision than manual injected systems. All our analytical equipment is purchased new in 2014 and we receive manufacturer onside service in addition to the internal maintenance performed by our staff.

Our laboratory is equipped with other standard equipment, such as our bio-filter laminar flow hood to provide a contaminant free environment for microbiology, moisture analyzer and precision scales as well as vortex mixer and a precision hot-block. All of our standards are sourced from certified suppliers and all of our equipment, down to the glass vials we use, have a traceable chain and/or certificate of analysis. All of our computer systems use high-security backups including full revision history. All offsite data is fully encrypted using a dual-layer AES with 521-bit ECDSA and 256-bit AES-XTS encryption, exceeding NSA P-384 TOP SECRET requirements.

Detailed equipment information should be an important consideration when choosing a laboratory and any laboratory should be forthcoming with such details. You can find the full specs of our HPLC and GC/MS systems below.
